FB HIGH TEMPERATURE RESISTANT FLAME RETARDING THERMOSETTING PHENOLIC RESIN (FB RESIN)
FB temperature boron modified phenolic resin is a chemical in whose molecular structure B-O key is introduced, since the bond energy of B-O key is stronger than C-C key connecting benzene ring of general phenolic resin, so its oxidation resistance and high temperature resistance performances are superior to the conventional phenolic resin, and also has the prominent features of thermal stability, ablation resistance, high carbon residue, flame retarding, less smoke, low toxicity and good manufacturability. It has therefore been widely used in some sophisticated fields and other civilian industries such as high temperature adhesives, fire retardant coating, ablation resistant material, resin based composite materials, insulation materials, carbon/carbon materials, carbon/ceramic material, phenolic resin based carbonized functional materials, etc. It is a satisfied matrix resin of advanced composite material and has been identified as a high-tech product by S/T Dept of Anhui province and its level is leading in China.
MAJOR FEATURES
(1) The product can be supplied to users in solid, liquid and powder of high molecular weight;
(2) Its decomposition temperature is above 500℃, still remains 50% carbon residue rate at1000℃, featuring a sound thermal aging performance;
(3) Its oxygen index is 48.5, non-combustible, generally smokeless and non- toxicity;
(4) The linear ablative rate is -0.079 mm/s, mass ablation rate is 0.0333 g/s;
(5) It can be used to prepare multiple curing agents of epoxy resin, which is able to make E type epoxy resin tolerate high temperature up to 200 ℃ for a long time, still remain the strength of 1.5 Mpa by 500℃/1h. Moreover, it can also been co-applied with phenolic epoxy and polyfunctional epoxy resin;
(6) FB resin can be cured by heating without adding hexamethylenetetramine; (7) It can be reacted with epdm, nitrile rubber of various synthetic rubbers so as to improve the ablation resistance, flame retarding properties and strength of rubber products;
(8) It can be dissolved in solvent in environment protection. With the character of low viscosity, it can meet the requirements of impregnation/densification of resin matrix ablation material, C/C material and carbon graphite products.

4. APPLICATIONS:
FB resin can be used for high temperature resistant adhesive and green fire retardant coating, as new type of ablation heat proof material, C/C material, carbon/ceramic composite material, ablation resistance flexible insulation material, phenolic resin based carbonized functional material, insulation material, composite material, wave-transmitting material, refractory material, friction material, sealing material, flame retardant material, carbon products, environmental protection flame retardant coating etc., which has been applied extensively in aerospace, aviation, military industry, electromechanical, chemical corrosion proof, high temperature precoated sand in oilfield, diamond grinding wheel and all kinds of brake pads, clutch plates, brake shoes – adhesive film, the high temp gluing field of synchronizer gear-ring in automobile, electrical silicon steel sheet, insulating paint, conductive adhesive. Because of the high carbon residue and low viscosity, it has been particularly applicable as the base resin or pre-impregnation materials of reinforced composites for making carbon fiber, glass fiber, high silica, basalt fiber, silicon carbide fiber, aramid fiber, as the impregnated, densification and gluing for precursor resin of C/C composites and their products, the preparation and connection of carbon matrix composites, the combination agent of graphite, electric carbon products, the impregnated forming in welding paste powder of electric light source, encapsulating material, electric brush, fuel cell carbon board, fuel cell carbon paper, battery anode material, high strength/high density carbon material, graphite resin thermal conductivity composite material, vacuum furnace carbon product, carbon fiber heating material (electric heating tube), as the resin for high temperature phenolic laminated plates or phenolic epoxy laminated plates and the high temperature composite materials of soaking-welding resistance and antistatic proof, and air/oil/fuel filtering element paper.
FB resin blended with thermoplastic phenolic resin is not only able to improve greatly the heat resistance of ordinary phenolic resin but also reacted with and modify some polymers such as synthetic rubber (e.g. nitrile rubber, epdm), epoxy resin, polyurethane, organic silicone so as to enhance the heat resistance and flame retardant properties of the said polymers, at the same time, these polymers are able to toughen and modify FB boron phenolic resin. FB resin is an excellent ablation resistant high temperature resin filler of epdm family flexible ablative material, which can effectively improve the ablation and caking properties of thermal insulation materials.
FB resin, used as flame retardant modifying agent of environmentally friendly water-soluble polyurethane can be connected into to the polyurethane chain in chemical reaction, which can effectively improve the water resistance and tensile strength of polyurethane, enhance dramatically the heat resistance and carbon yield of polyurethane, maximize oxygen index limit. Add 10% of FB resin, the polyurethane oxygen index is 29, flame retardant grade reaches UL - 94 - v - 1. In phenolic foam, adding 20-30% FB resin can enhance the high temperature proof strength of ordinary foam and flame retardant property generally. FB resin can be also used as thermoplastic plastics and flame- retardants.

5. PACKING
FB resin (solid) packing: filled in plastic bags, which is packed in paper barrel or carton, weight: 20~25kg, transported as general chemical product.
FB resin (liquid): packed in plastic barrel, weight: 10 ~ 25 kg. Its concentration can be customized.
